Nail Art || Stripes

Hello! Another manicure from days ago and I believe I have a few more coming that are from days before :P But the other week I decided I had to do more than just slap on a coat of polish and go to work. I decided it was time to get out my striping tape and get taping!

I don't know how I came up with this color combination, but I liked it. The blue looks less dark than it actually was. You could actually barely tell the difference between the black and blue. Over the black I just had to put on Fairy Dust, since it makes every manicure better. Over the pink/purple I put on Kleancolor Chunky Holo Fuchsia.

As you can see I do not really master the tape as you can see on my pinky finger. Of course I applied a layer of topcoat after the tape, but sadly the next day the tape came off :( But I had fun for as long as it lasted :P

The blue polish is a blue polish from Hema, the black is just Black from Color Club, topped with China Glaze Fairy Dust. The pink/purple is Purple Crush from Orly.

I hope you're having a great weekend and I'll see you next time! :)

Swatch || Ozotic 509

A few days ago I got my first Ozotics and Kleancolors :) This is the first Ozotic I'm going to show you.

Ozotic 509 is a silver holographic and a little bit on the thick side. I was hoping this would be a nice topcoat as well, but it's a bit 'meh' for that. I couldn't really get one even thin stroke over another color.

With the first layer I thought I would need like 3 or maybe even 4 coats, but I only needed two. For this swatch I didn't wear a base and topcoat, because I was too excited to try this one out :P

Looking at the pictures of Glitter Gal Silver they don't really look that similar, but I wore that one over a pink polish. Maybe I'll compare the 2 someday.

I ordered Ozotic 509 from prettypolish.nl and I bought it for € 11,00.

Milani - Digital

Today I'm showing Digital. Digital is a dusty pink filled with holographic glitter. Everytime I looked at the bottle I didn't expect it to be this holographic. Even without sunlight or a lamp shining on your nails it's really holographic. I almost got away with 1 coat, but did need two. I love this one!

And yesterday I got my tooth pulled. I've had my wisdom tooth pulled like 2 years ago and I had no pain afterwards. This time it does hurt a bit. Like an annoying kind of pain. I actually don't know if it's my (missing) tooth that hurts or my cheek xD

Glitter Gal - Silver

I feel like saying 'yo', so here I go; Yo! How are you doing today? I'm exhausted and I feel like it's Thursday... How can a day feel like a specific day?

Anyway, as you can see no Catrice today :O I made a few swatches the other day and only had one left to post today. I kept thinking; Which one is this? And then I realized it was Pool Party At Night... xD

So here is Glitter Gal Silver. Not really a great name, but it IS such an amazing polish! It's the most holographic thing I've ever seen. When deciding on which Glitter Gal I would get I decided to go for this one, because I thought it might work as a nice holographic topcoat. It's not a nice topcoat. It's to streaky to add a coat over a polish and when you apply 2 coats you don't see the polish color anymore.

On the pictures I added 2 coats of Silver over 2 coats of Something Sweet from China Glaze.

My mom really likes this one too and she wants me to order a bottle for her too. I bought it at enchantra.com for € 8,96 which was with a 25% discount. Usually they're € 11,95, which is pretty expensive, but I think it's really worth it :)

Thanks for reading :)

Catrice Month: Dirty Berry

For day 2 of the Catrice Month I have Dirty Berry to show you. It's supposed to be a holographic polish, but it's not really noticeable in real life. It's still a berry nice polish though :)

The application of this one was really nice. The polish wasn't too thick or thin (even though it's a really old polish) and it dried pretty quickly. 2 coats were needed for opacity. For this swatch I didn't use a base- and topcoat.

I didn't mention it in yesterday's post, but this polish is still available. I think when Catrice will come with a new collection Dirty Berry might get discontinued. So get it while you can! :)

Thanks for reading :)

Fake The Splatter!

Hi! Can I say that I'm really ready for the weekend? I just need it! ;p Today I'm gonna show you the manicure I wore yesterday.

I painted my nails with 1 coat of Who Are Blue from Catrice. Over that I stamped with Color Club Wild At Heart and I used image plate m70 from Konad. I really think that the image looks like some paint splatter or just something random with a brush and paint xD

Then, to add more holo, I added a coat of Fairy Dust. Because, you know... Fairy Dust makes everything better :)

I hope to show you the manicure that I just made tomorrow, because I'm in love with it! xD

I tried me a Jelly Sandwich

Hello! Not too long ago I ordered Nubar's Strawberry from the Jellybean collection. I wanted to get a real jelly polish to try a real Jelly Sandwich.

I must say I didn't find the polish too jelly. It was actually pretty opaque I think. But I think I did manage to make one.

1 coat of Strawberry, 1 coat of Wet 'n Wild Kaleidoscope and another coat of Strawberry. On the pictures you actually see the result better than in real life!

This manicure is looking pretty messy since I only wanted to try it and didn't think I would post it. Mainly because of the ugly middle finger nail and the messed up index... xD

I still want to try more Jelly Sandwiches. I don't really think you need a jelly polish for it. As long as it's a bit sheer. That is just my way of thinking and I might change my opinion after trying xD

Day 30: Inspired By A Tutorial

I feel like this is the last day of this long challenge. We have a day 31, yes, but I don't think that's going to happen :P I'm kinda done with it. BUT, I will do 1 more thing for this challenge though :)

But now for today; There are so many tutorials I wanna try! I came across this one by accident. I was just Google-ing(what?!) something and I saw these nails and I decided that it was going to be my inspiration for today.

It's from this photo tutorial by Chloe's Nails. She used normal tape for it, so I did too. I'm horrible at it! :P My nail polish actually got under the tape! So I did all my nails with the tape first and after that I went over it with the polish brush.

I used 2 coats of Zoya's Dana for the holographic polish I used Fashion Addict! from Color Club and Black from Color Club as well.

You should definitely check hers out, but I think you have already xD

Thanks for reading and sticking with me the past month and a few days :)

Day 17: Glitter

I love glitter! For today's tiny challenge I noticed I don't have that many glitter polishes. Most actually look a lot alike. But then I noticed this China Glaze that I actually never showed.

This is Carnival Lights from China Glaze's Specialty Collection. It's a bit of a jelly pink base and it's full of holographic glitter. It also has tiny pink glitters, but that's not really visible in the pictures. I don't recommend anybody to wear this one on it's own. You would probably need 5 coats or more and it will not dry! I'm wearing Carnival Lights over Catrice's Welcome To Rosywood.

Even though the nail on my ringfinger ripped off yesterday. Most of it is just the side of the nail missing. So I edited my pics in this way, so it doesn't look to weird for me :P

Do you have a favorite glitter polish? If so, let me know! :)

Thanks for reading!

Day 16: Delicate Print

Hello! Today I have the 'forgotten' delicate print. Maybe a bit too delicate :P Today I had some nail horror going on on both my hands, so that's why my index finger is not going to be showed for probably a week xD

I started, of course, with a basecoat. Today I used Trind's Nail Repair. I think you can all see what polish I used, but if not; It's the GORGEOUS Wild At Heart from Color Club. For my matte topcoat I used GOSH Matt Effect Topcoat. Then I stamped with Wild At Heart and I used image plate SdP-47.

The reason why I did nothing with my middle finger is because the matte topcoat takes a long time to dry and something invisible would just keep making bumps and smudges on my nail! I re-did my nail 3 times and then I just decided to leave it like this ;p

China Glaze - TMI

This week I was lucky enough to find a bottle of TMI from China Glaze's OMG collection! I got it from Enchantra.com (Dutch webshop). I checked the site so many times because in the hologram section it showed TMI and GR8 all the time. GR8 has been available since I started checking it, but TMI was sold out. But Monday they had TMI and it was the last one :D
TMI is not as pink as these pictures show. It's more of a combination of orange and pink. It doesn't dry shiny, but not too matte either. The holographic effect is very subtle, but I believe that out in the sun you can see a lot more.

Overall I'm not too excited about this polish. Probably because I expected more holo going on :P BUT, I haven't seen this polish out in the sun yet, so maybe I might change my opinion xD

Oh, and I was able to capture the colorful glitters in O.P.I. Excuse Moi. At first I really didn't see those glitters, but in different lighting it was visible.

Color Club - Love 'Em Leave 'Em

Hello! Today I'm showing you the last polish from the holographic polishes I own from Color Club. Previously I showed you Fashion Addict! (not the best swatch) Worth The Risque and Revvvolution. These pictures were taken when I still had some nails left :P

Love 'Em Leave 'Em is a nude holographic polish and great for every occasion. When you're not aloud to wear a bright polish at work this one is great! The holographic effect is very subtle, but still noticeable.

The weirdest question I must have asked since starting blogging, but where does it seem like where I take my pictures? :P I would like to know if there is anything I could do different when it comes to my pictures or that they are just fine :)

Thanks for reading!

First Water Marble Attempt

I'm home sick today, so I had time to try this out. I failed big time, but I like the 'design' on my pinky! :)

I used a white base color, but I think black would've been better. Here's a list of polishes I used:
China Glaze - Snow
China Glaze - Ahoy!
Color Club - Alias
Golden Rose Holographic - 110

I would say thanks for reading, but there isn't much to read in this post :P

Color Club - Revvvolution

After my swatch of Worth The Risque (no holo :( ) I wanted to go for a Color Club polish that IS holographic. I still don't know if there are 'failed' bottles from some polishes, but it's not the worst thing on this world, right?

Revvvolution is not like rainbow holographic, but more orange/yellow, green, blue. Maybe it just looks like that because the polish is black. Nevertheless the holo is very visible in real life and it's just gorgeous!

I'm not sure yet if I'm posting everyday the upcoming days, because I have to work from like 8 to 7, so I'm probably dead by the end of the day :P

Also, I wanted to know if I should do my posts in 2 languages (English and Dutch) I'm not sure myself yet, but please fill in my survey on the side :)

Color Club - Worth The Risque

I have some Color Club holo's and wanted to swatch those for you. Today I have Worth The Risque. When I didn't have this one yet and saw swatches I had to have it. Well, I have it, but mine isn't holographic :(

When you just see the bottle you see there is no holo in it, which was kinda disappointing. But I have to say I still find it kind of a nice polish. It's silver with like white and grey glitters, I guess?

On some of these pictures you might be able to spot a little bit of holo, but that's just because of the flash of my camera.

If you have Worth The Risque, is your version holographic or not? On my old blog I was able to capture how holographic my bottle of Fashion Addict is and someone said that hers wasn't as holographic. Could it be there are different versions of some polishes?

Going Holo with Dots and a Bow

Again a new layout... I'm as changing as the weather! But I have a new mani for you today. It's really simple and I love it!

I started with 2 coats of Milani's HD followed by a coat of Kaleidoscope from Wet 'n Wild. I believe I got both bottles from Iris from Polish Amor, but it could also be from Nory from Fierce Make Up & Nails. Since I mentioned in my yesterday's post that Wild At Heart might be good for stamping, so I tried stamping with it today.

I think it works pretty good for stamping, but it kinda loses it holographic effect. With HD and Kaleidoscope in this mani it's not really big of a deal, since these are pretty holographic already, but I can't say how well it would look without a holographic polish under it.

It was pretty hard to capture all the holo going on, but in real life it just looks so good! At first I thought HD would be a dupe for Color Club's Worth The Risque, but that one isn't holo at all... I used Konad image plate m59 for the bow and m79 for the dots.

What do you think of this mani? Yay or nay? :P

Color Club - Wild At Heart

Today I have a swatch for you again from a polish I didn't wore before. I regret that, because now I saw what a beauty this one is!

Color Club's Wild At Heart. A purple holographic polish. I don't even know how to describe this one. The holo is so colorful and sparkly. I haven't seen the sun in a while, but I know this would look amazing in the sun! My bottle of Wild At Heart is really holographic, just like Fashion Addict, but I don't know if there are bottles out there that are less or more holographic.

You could get away with just 1 coat of Wild At Heart, when you apply a little thicker coat than I did. I applied 2 thinner coats for it to be opaque. I'm not sure, but I think you could use this one for stamping.

I might purchase a back-up of this one, because I feel like that's necessary... ;p

What do you think of this polish? Love it or hate it? AND... do you have this one? Let me know below!

Top 5 Of 2011: 1. Color Club - Fashion Addict!

My favorite polish of the year is... Fashion Addict! from Color Club. I think this was my first holographic nail polish and it is also my most holographic polish at the moment.

Whenever I need to paint my nails quick, 9 out of 10 times this is the polish I grab. It's gorgeous, holographic and goes with a lot of occasions if you ask me. What I also like is that everybody could get away with just 1 even coat. I never get an even coat, so I always wear 2 coats :P

It was hard to capture the true color of Fashion Addict! with my camera. It kept looking like a silver holographic polish. But as you can see it's a pinkish/purplish/ color. The site where I order most of my nail polish has a short description saying: NO HOLO! But I think it definitely is a holo!

This was my Top 5 Of 2011:
5. Color Club - Alias
4. China Glaze - Something Sweet
3. China Glaze - Skyscraper
2. Essence - Blue Addicted
1. Color Club - Fashion Addict!

2 China Glaze's and 2 Color Club's. I think those are 2 of my favorite brands and I can't wait what they bring for 2012!

For now, I want to thank you for reading, for following me on my new blog and I want to thank those who leave a little comment :) This all means a lot to me and I hope you're still here with me in 2012!

When this post will be up I'm probably having an awesome dinner and I'll be just 5 hours away from 2012. I want to wish you all a Happy New Year!

xoxo Ingie
