Nail Art || Stripes

Hello! Another manicure from days ago and I believe I have a few more coming that are from days before :P But the other week I decided I had to do more than just slap on a coat of polish and go to work. I decided it was time to get out my striping tape and get taping!

I don't know how I came up with this color combination, but I liked it. The blue looks less dark than it actually was. You could actually barely tell the difference between the black and blue. Over the black I just had to put on Fairy Dust, since it makes every manicure better. Over the pink/purple I put on Kleancolor Chunky Holo Fuchsia.

As you can see I do not really master the tape as you can see on my pinky finger. Of course I applied a layer of topcoat after the tape, but sadly the next day the tape came off :( But I had fun for as long as it lasted :P

The blue polish is a blue polish from Hema, the black is just Black from Color Club, topped with China Glaze Fairy Dust. The pink/purple is Purple Crush from Orly.

I hope you're having a great weekend and I'll see you next time! :)

Thank you for reading!

Milani - Digital

Today I'm showing Digital. Digital is a dusty pink filled with holographic glitter. Everytime I looked at the bottle I didn't expect it to be this holographic. Even without sunlight or a lamp shining on your nails it's really holographic. I almost got away with 1 coat, but did need two. I love this one!

And yesterday I got my tooth pulled. I've had my wisdom tooth pulled like 2 years ago and I had no pain afterwards. This time it does hurt a bit. Like an annoying kind of pain. I actually don't know if it's my (missing) tooth that hurts or my cheek xD

Jelly Sandwich - Blue Waves

Well hello blog world. I haven't seen you in a while. Well, you haven't seen me for a while. Just busy, doing my thing. But, I have a week off now and I hope that one thing I'll be doing this week is blogging. Or at least try to make mani's for my blog :)

So today I'm back with a Jelly Sandwich! I love to do these, even though I don't have a lot of jelly polishes. I added a new jelly to my collection this week and decided a Jelly Sandwich had to be made.

I'm wearing 2 coats of China Glaze Ride The Waves from the Summer Neons collection. A royal blue jelly. Then I went over with one coat of Essence Blue Addicted and another coat of Ride The Waves. The sandwich is completed! :)

What do you think of this Jelly Sandwich? Let me know!

Catrice Month: Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans

My nails are short again! My nails started growing and growing and they were actually strong and not breaking. A dream came true! But I decided that I don't like long nails on me, so I filed them down a few days ago :)

But Today I'm showing you a discontinued polish that got undiscontinued :P I'm glad it came back, because I once saw a swatch of Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans and then found out it had dark blue glitter in it. That's when I knew I needed it. Not needed, but just had to have it.

Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans is a jeans blue polish with blue glitters in it. Those glitters are hardly noticeable in the bottle, but do come out on the nail. It applies easy and 2 coats is needed for opacity.

To be honest I don't like it that much. This is just not my color. I'm more of a baby blue, blue/green, teal kind of girl. Can't get enough of those! :)

Catrice Month: I Wear My Sunglasses At Night

We're a week into this Catrice Month! Yay! :)

I'm showing you I Wear My Sunglasses At Night today. A black polish with green and red glitters in it. If you ask me; one of the unique polishes Catrice made.

It's opaque in 2 coats. Formula was great again, like usual. I felt like it got a little bit thicker than it used to be, but not super thick. The polish dries really quick and needs a top coat for some shine.

Sadly this polish got discontinued, but maybe they bring it back sometime :)

Revlon - Starry Pink

Today I have a lovely polish to show you. The sweet Jenn from AllThatIsGorgeous got me Revlon's Starry Pink! :) Like I mentioned in the nail mail post; All the polishes she got me were from my wishlist, so I'm super happy :) This is the first polish I'm wearing from the package and I can't wait to try more!

Starry Pink is a milky pink based polish with silver small and large hexagon glitters. I expected it to be really sheer and would need at least 4 coats, but 2 coats was enough.

I would actually wear this with a pink polish underneath, just so you would only need one coat of Starry Pink. The glitter is just so much and I hate removing glitter polishes. But glitter polishes are so pretty! :P

I hope to show you some more polishes I got in the swap, because they're gorgeous!

Thanks for reading!

I tried me a Jelly Sandwich

Hello! Not too long ago I ordered Nubar's Strawberry from the Jellybean collection. I wanted to get a real jelly polish to try a real Jelly Sandwich.

I must say I didn't find the polish too jelly. It was actually pretty opaque I think. But I think I did manage to make one.

1 coat of Strawberry, 1 coat of Wet 'n Wild Kaleidoscope and another coat of Strawberry. On the pictures you actually see the result better than in real life!

This manicure is looking pretty messy since I only wanted to try it and didn't think I would post it. Mainly because of the ugly middle finger nail and the messed up index... xD

I still want to try more Jelly Sandwiches. I don't really think you need a jelly polish for it. As long as it's a bit sheer. That is just my way of thinking and I might change my opinion after trying xD

China Glaze - Snow Globe (over white)

Hello! Happy weekend everybody! Today I'm showing a manicure I had on my nails before adding the dots for Day 11 of my challenge. 2 coats of China Glaze Snow followed by a coat of Snow Globe that I got in a swap.

I find Snow Globe (I keep typing Glove) a very interesting polish/topcoat. Depending on what color polish you wear it, the colored glitter looks different. Here on white you can see pink, blue, yellow, orange, purple and green. Over black you see more blue and green. Over red you will see more orange and yellow.

The colored glitter reminds me of Easter!

I absolutely loved Snow Globe from the first time I wore it and I am thinking about getting a new one, just because I might run out of this one someday :P

I wish I could post more often, but today the nail on my ringfinger ripped on both sides so I have to wait until I can finally clip it off. I have a few more swatch photo's on my laptop though, so until then I think I will post those :)

Day 27: Inspired By Artwork

Hello! Today is again, really simple. I choose to do Mondrian nails, because it's simple (and I went to a college named like that). I actually wanted to do all my nails, but I didn't feel so well, so ended up with this.

I actually painted all my nails black, except for my thumb. With striping tape I made the lines and filled the blocks in with a dotting tool. Then I took the striping tape off.

My thumb has 2 coats of Catrice Blues Brother Vol. II. My index finger is just Black by Color Club. My middle finger is 1 coat of Black and 2 coats of Ruby Slippers from Color Club and my pinky is a coat of Black and 2 coats of Almost Famous, also from Color Club.

Below my inspiration picture;

Layering: Forget that Brilliant Alias

Hello! I'm sorry for my absence. I hope to continue with the 31 Day Challenge tomorrow :)

Today I have my first layered manicure for you. I tried it a few times before, but it never worked out. This manicure is actually 3 weeks old, but I found these pictures and decided to post them.

I don't remember what base coat I used, but it's either Seche Vite or Trind Nail Repair. Then I applied 1 or 2 coats of Catrice's Forget Me Not followed by a coat of Alias from Color Club. I topped it off with BeYu's Brilliant Shiraz and I was so happy with the way it looked!

My happiness was gone when I was in bed later that night and my polish started peeling off again. I went 'naked' before this manicure for about a week. The week before when my polish peeled off was when I was also wearing Brilliant Shiraz. So it's not the condition of my nails, but it's Brilliant Shiraz that's giving me peeling polish. I tried a few topcoats, but none work. Brilliant Shiraz is not for my nails :(

But anyway, thank you for reading and I hope to see you back soon :)

Day 19: Galaxies

I was kinda nervous to do the galaxy nails, because I only have to pick 1 wrong color and I can start all over again! But today that wasn't the case. I think I picked the right colors and I'm pretty satisfied with the end result :)

The picture above is from the nail I liked best; my middle finger. You can see most of the base color I used and to me that's more galaxy-like ;p

This last picture is a one from all the polishes I used. From left to right;
Sinful Colors - Frenzy
Essence Multi Dimension - Midnight Rocker (base color)
Catrice - Blues Brother Vol. II
Miss Sporty Clubbing Colors - 330
Orly - Blue Collar
China Glaze - Ahoy!
ELF - Glitter Purple
ELF - Lilac
Essie - East Hampton Cottage

The bottle that's not on the picture is China Glaze's Fairy Dust. I just forgot about it ;p

Day 18: Half Moons

Maybe it's better for all of us to just skip this post :P This challenge helped some people to get better with the nail art and all, but I think I'm getting worse by the day!

I've never done half moons before and I used those half moon sticker things, but they didn't do what they were supposed to do. It was more straight then a nice curve, so I had to give it more of a half moon shape with the brush of the polish. That didn't work out too well either, but at least I tried :)

But, in real life this manicure actually looks nicer than the picture I have to say. I really like the combination of pink with glitter and black. And yes, the pink with glitter is from yesterday's manicure :P

That's all for today!

Day 17: Glitter

I love glitter! For today's tiny challenge I noticed I don't have that many glitter polishes. Most actually look a lot alike. But then I noticed this China Glaze that I actually never showed.

This is Carnival Lights from China Glaze's Specialty Collection. It's a bit of a jelly pink base and it's full of holographic glitter. It also has tiny pink glitters, but that's not really visible in the pictures. I don't recommend anybody to wear this one on it's own. You would probably need 5 coats or more and it will not dry! I'm wearing Carnival Lights over Catrice's Welcome To Rosywood.

Even though the nail on my ringfinger ripped off yesterday. Most of it is just the side of the nail missing. So I edited my pics in this way, so it doesn't look to weird for me :P

Do you have a favorite glitter polish? If so, let me know! :)

Day 10: Gradient Nails

Gradient nails! I always love gradients, but I never really know where to begin. Then I just want to combine so many colors and it never turns out how I want it.

Today's nails were made not too long before this post. I used a polish from the new Catrice collection named Welcome To Roosywood, an old pink color. Depending on the lightning it can look like an old pink, but it can also look like a brick color.

To keep it simple I used Candy Cane from Color Club. An amazing pink glitter polish! Probably my favorite! It has two different colors of pink glitter in it, some purple glitter and holographic glitter. Just amazing! This polish will also look amazing on it's own. I never did, because glitter is not made for my nails I guess :P

This is the end of the first part from the 31 day challenge. I'm excited for the patterns! :D

Day 1: Red Nails

My first day of this challenge! At the moment I'm like; I'm totally completing this challenge! But I have no idea how I feel in like 2 weeks xD

I hope you can forgive my sloppiness. I cleaned up around my nails and in real life all the red seemed like it was gone, but the pics show something different.

My base color was Ruby deer and the darker color is Phat Santa. The glitter over Phat Santa is Mrs. Claus. All are from China Glaze.

I hope to see you back for day 2, and I have to tell that I'm pretty excited about that manicure :)

Stamping: Starry Night

I didn't really know what to do for today's post. When going through my image plates I thought I wanted to try the stars. Cause I never did before :P For my base color I used my Franken Underground Candyshop and for the yellow stars I used Almost Famous from Color Club.

I'm still proud of this Franken... :) Almost Famous stamped better over a dark color than expected. Some stars have some gaps, because they some pieces just wouldn't get on the stamper.

While I was doing my nails I kept singing; Catch a falling star and put it in my pocket xD I heard that song for the first time in The Princess Diaries :P

O.P.I. - Excuse Moi!

Excuse moi, but the color isn't 100% accurate. Sorry!

Hello! Today I have a sexy polish to show you! After a few days of naked nails, because I was sick I felt like I needed something on my nails again. Because of the fact this is a glitter polish I hadn't wore this one yet.

It's O.P.I.'s Excuse Moi from the Muppets collection! When Nory and I did our second swap she asked which one of this collection I would like to have. I picked this one and she got it for me!

Excuse Moi! is a sheer pink based polish with large pink and silver glitters along with micro pink and silver glitters. I remember when I was looking for swatches of these polishes Scrangie said;

...with tiny silver and pink microglitter accented by medium round multicolor glitter. There's silver, yellow, red, orange, green, pink and blue.

Mine is just pink and silver, that's it. The silver glitters do color different sometimes, because of things around it. It's kinda like a mirror :P Just because I don't see those rainbowy glitters in it doesn't make it less gorgeous :)

- - - - - - - - - - EDIT - - - - - - - - - -

In the middle of the night, when it was dark and I had the light of my iPod, I discovered the rainbowy glitters. I think it's just the lighting that makes you see those colors. The next morning, with light in my room, I noticed only purple and pink glitters. Different lighting equals different glitter :)

Do you own any of the Muppets collection? If not, which one do you want to have?

Wet 'n Wild - Back Alley Deals (is a fail) + Naked Nails

As soon as I applied this polish I knew something wasn't right. It dried really fast and kinda matte. I was expecting that it would chip while at work, but worse happened...

I got Back Alley Deals together with the 7 other polishes from the Ice Baby collection in a swap. They all look pretty good, except the bar glitter polishes. I don't like that kind of glitter. Back Alley Deals has purple micro glitters mixed with pink larger glitters in a clear base.

The application was pretty much horrible! The brush had 1 hair sticking out really far and 2 sticking out a little, but those were still annoying with applying. I applied 2 coats, but because of the brush it was pretty much impossible to paint the sides of my nails.
I added 1 coat of Seché Vite topcoat, but should have gone with 2 coats.

The manicure survived the night. I went to work, I waited for my colleague, we went inside and I noticed I missed the whole piece of polish on 2 of my nails. During my lunch break I only had the polish on my thumbs and I expected it to survive, but it didn't. All the nail polish was gone!

I don't know if I'm even going to try to wear the other polishes from the Ice Baby collection. After one use the bottle is like 1/4 empty...
So that last picture is what my nails look like at the moment. The nail on my middle finger broke and the nail on my ring finger just ripped I guess. I feel like when I'm not wearing polish my nails just die easier.

Do you have the Ice Baby collection and did this happen to you too? I doubt it was my basecoat, because I always use that one and love it!

Sinful Colors - What's Your Name?

You may have noticed I didn't do anything nail art related when I started this blog. Not that I did do much of it on LimitedAddictionNails, but I can't wait to start stamping again! The reason of it is I got acrylics almost 2 weeks ago and because I use a lot of aceton, they're pretty much getting uglier by the day. So as soon as they are gone, or when my nails look more appropriate I start stamping again :)

A week ago I made swatches of this gorgeous polish that I wore right after I got it. A while back I did a swap with Iris from Polish Amor. One of the polishes I got was Sinful Colors' What's Your Name? It was on my wishlist, so I'm happy she got it for me.

What's Your Name? is a sheer black based polish full with blue/green glitters that turn purple in some angles. The purple is actually not noticeable, unless you keep it close to a light bulb and place the bottle in different angles. This is not too disappointing to me, because I didn't even know about the duochrome glitters :P

On MUA I read that you can hardly see the glitters, but I do notice the glitters in real life. Maybe it's just how you look at it. I have nothing like this and I love this polish!

Top 5 Of 2011: 2. Essence - Blue Addicted

Number 2 of my top 5... It's a polish I used to hate, because I once layered it over a wrong color blue. When I once tried it over the right kind of blue, I was sold! Essence's Blue Addicted is on number 2!

I layered Blue Addicted over another Essence polish named Hard To Resist. It matches perfectly with Blue Addicted. Blue Addicted is a sheer blue based jelly polish filled with blue and green hexagon glitters. There are also smaller, but square blue glitters in it.

You may know this already, but Blue Addicted is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Across The Universe. This Essence polish was only € 1,29 and I believe they are available in America at Ulta for just $ 1,00.

I will post my number 1 polish of the year in a few hours :)

Thanks for reading!
