Gradient || Orange To Pink

By accident I just found this gradient I did months ago! June 15th to be exact :P The only thing I remember from this manicure is that I was really proud of it and I wore it for days!

To be honest I have no idea what polishes I used... Looking at the spilled polish on the bottle I think this is Sugar High...

I wanted to see this gradient in a matte version and really liked that too. I have no idea what topcoat I used, but there are a lot of topcoats with this finish :)

I hope you liked my first real post after this long :)

New Frankenpolishes

Yesterday I randomly decided to create a polish. While working on it I made 4 instead of 1 :P A few weeks ago there was a Dutch tv host wearing green jeans that looked so glowing. And I was like; I want a polish in that color! A week later she was wearing another jeans in orange, but it seemed from the same brand. Also never seen that color in a polish. So here are my Frankens.

This first one is a neon bubblegum pink. But I decided to name it Hot Flamingo :P I'm not good with how much I used of what polish, but it was about 3/5 Catrice Sweets For My Sweets, 1/5 China Glaze Shocking Pink and 1/5 Color Club Warhol. This is 2 coats and no topcoat.

This second one looks so much nicer in real life. It's lighter and looks glowing. I named this one Dancing On The Sun. It was half a bottle of Catrice Snow and I randomly put in China Glaze Sun Worshiper and China Glaze Yellow Polka Dot Bikini. I really love this one! This is 3 coats and no topcoat.

This 3rd one is my favorite and on Instagram it got a lot of likes :) I named it Don't Call Me Apple. Just like Dancing On The Sun it's really glowing and so pretty! I used half a bottle of China Glaze Snow and put in China Glaze Four Leaf Clover, China Glaze Sun Worshiper and Color Club Twiggie. This is 2 coats and no topcoat.

This last one isn't really what I hoped it would be, but I still like it, since I have nothing like it. Seriously. I named it As High As A Cloud. It's a beautiful sky blue. I used Rimmel London Sky High, Color Club Age Of Aquarius and another Color Club that I can't remember. This is 2 coats and no topcoat.

I hope to be frankening soon again, because I really like these!

What do you think of these and which one is your favorite? :)

Tropical Gradient

A few weeks ago it was very hot in the country. As much as I hate hot weather, I do like that I can wear my bright polishes. I first wanted to make rainbow nails, but I didn't have the right color green, so I went for this tropical gradient.

I started with 2 coats of a white polish to make the neons pop even more. With a make-up sponge I made the gradient. For the pink I either used Color Club Warhol OR China Glaze Pool Party, for the orange Color Club Wham! Pow! and for the yellow Color Club Almost Famous.

Sadly, this blurry picture was the best my camera could get. If you have these polishes yourself you should definitely try this one out to see how awesome it looks in real life :)

Catrice Month: Salmon & Garfunkel

Hello! Today I'm showing Salmon & Garfunkel. Don't let the name of this polish fool you, because it's not a salmon color. It's more a peachy orange. A very cute color to me although I don't know if it looks that great on me with my skintone.

Salmon & Garfunkel may look like Catrice's Apropos Apricot, but that one is more brown/orange. Unlike most polishes with the new brush from Catrice this one applied so much more better than other new ones from Catrice. It was opaque in 2 coats.

So, what do you think of Salmon & Garfunkel? :)

Thanks for reading :)

Pastel Skittles & Dots

Happy Easter everyone! I don't celebrate Easter, I'm just here for the chocolate eggs. But I did want to do something "Eastery" for today. Pastel colors remind me of Easter somehow, so that's why I did this simple skittle mani.

The pictures turned out a bit too bright, but you can still kinda see. I really liked the skittles, but wanted to try to add some dots, but they didn't turn out so good. They look like candy we used to get when we were little.

From pinky to thumb; Color Club Blushing Rose, Catrice Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy!, Essence Mellow Yellow, Catrice Apropos Apricot and ELF Mint Cream. I definitely refound my love for ELF's Mint Cream. What a gorgeous color!

Again, happy Easter and thanks for reading!

With A Flakie On Top

Todays manicure is something I really love! Easy and simple, but looking pretty nice. 2 weeks ago I wore Color Club's Warhol, a bright neon that looks so amazing in the sun. I put a green flakie on it and mattified it and I was in love! I tried to capture it on my camera, but it never worked out... A week later again I tried the same, but it just didn't happen.

Yesterday I just grabbed a random polish (just because it's kind of weird for me to stare at my polishes for 30 minutes, pick something and then decided it's not what I want). As my base color I'm wearing Miss Sporty's number 328 from the Clubbing Colours. Somebody please tell me where I can find the names for these polishes! Over that a Golden Rose flakie in number 09.

Just like the combination of Warhol and flakie I wanted this one matte too. It looks really different than when it's shiny, but I don't know how to explain that. I used ELF's matte topcoat for it.

I really like the look of the topcoat, because it's not a shiny matte, but I just looked at my nails and noticed that it's not matte anymore, while a few hours ago it still was matte. So it stayed matte for like 20 hours or something.

I'm sorry for the picture spam, but believe me; I had so much more! xD

Thanks for reading!

China Glaze - Sun Worshiper

Hello! I hope you all have a great day! Today I'm showing you another swatch from the polishes Jenn got me. This is China Glaze's Sun Worshiper. This one was on my wishlist too, because I thought I might need it someday for something :P On the pictures I'm also wearing a coat of Finger Paints Flashy.

Sun Worshiper, from the Poolside collection, is a bright neon orange/yellow polish. It dries matte and pretty streaky, but with a topcoat you don't see that. I used 3 coats for opacity and I tell you; this was so hard to capture with my camera! But the picture above is almost color accurate.

I think Sun Worshiper is a pretty unique polish and when you have it on your nails it's really out there! It almost looks like it's giving light or something. I think that looks really cool!

Do you have Sun Worshiper or would you ever wear a color like it? Let me know :)

Catrice feMALE LE; Swatches

Hello! Today I'm showing you a new LE collection from Catrice. This is the feMALE collection. The collection is focusing on the male dandy look versus feminine elegance.

This first one is A Woman's World. The pictures are far from accurate, but it's a nice coral orange polish. This one is close to Catrice's I Scream Peach!, but a little lighter in color.

Next we have Nude. A brown beige polish. This one was opaque in just 1 coat! I like the shiny version much better than it's own finish. The matte finish makes the polish look a bit dull...

My favorite from the 4; Who Are Blue. A lovely blurple polish. I think that's my first blurple polish. I like both the matte finish and the shiny topcoat finish. This one is similar to the Essence Colour & Go Absolutely Blue, but that one has a shiny finish. 1 coat is okay, but 2 coats is better.

Last but not least we have So Suit! A smokey grey polish. It looks lighter in the bottle than on the nails. Compared to the other 3 this one dries more shiny matte. I don't really like this one, but that's just the season; I'll probably love this one in the Winter.

All the pictures with the original finish were taking approximately 2 minutes after I applied a polish. The shiny version were taken probably right after I applied the topcoat.

I like the collection, but it's not that special. My favorite is Who Are Blue? I don't think Catrice ever had one like it in their standard collection, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Which one is your favorite? :)

Thanks for reading!

Day 26: Inspired By A Pattern

For today I didn't really have anything in mind. Since image plates have some nice patterns I decided to go for Konad image plate m60. I didn't want to have just 1 boring background color, so I made a gradient.

My base color is Catrice Apropos Apricot. From the base of my nail (where my cuticles are) I used the following colors;
Essie; Tart Deco
Catrice; Apropos Apricot
Sinful Colors; Beautiful Girl
China Glaze; Sugar High

Then I went for Golden Rose flakies in number 09. I think it really adds something... ;p As mentioned before I used image plate m60 and I used a white stamping polish. A coat of Seche Vite and manicure finished! Super simple :)

Day 23: Inspired By A Movie

I love movies, but I had no idea what to do for today. At first I wanted to go for Confessions Of A Shopaholic, but then I had to watch the movie while I wasn't really in a movie mood.

Another movie I just love is Madagascar. My dad bought me the first movie a few years ago for my birthday (I think I turned 16!) I wasn't really too happy with that; a stupid cartoon movie... But I loved it! Now that I'm 21 I can still get really excited when I see the movie :P

The penguins in the movie are too hilarious. That's why I wanted to create them on my nails. It was easier than I expected it to be and I like that I actually see penguins on my nails :P

Base coat: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
Base color: China Glaze - Seashell
Black: Color Club - Black
White: China Glaze - Snow
Orange: Essie - Tart Deco
Top coat: Seche Vite

I hope you liked it!

Thanks for reading!

Layering: Forget that Brilliant Alias

Hello! I'm sorry for my absence. I hope to continue with the 31 Day Challenge tomorrow :)

Today I have my first layered manicure for you. I tried it a few times before, but it never worked out. This manicure is actually 3 weeks old, but I found these pictures and decided to post them.

I don't remember what base coat I used, but it's either Seche Vite or Trind Nail Repair. Then I applied 1 or 2 coats of Catrice's Forget Me Not followed by a coat of Alias from Color Club. I topped it off with BeYu's Brilliant Shiraz and I was so happy with the way it looked!

My happiness was gone when I was in bed later that night and my polish started peeling off again. I went 'naked' before this manicure for about a week. The week before when my polish peeled off was when I was also wearing Brilliant Shiraz. So it's not the condition of my nails, but it's Brilliant Shiraz that's giving me peeling polish. I tried a few topcoats, but none work. Brilliant Shiraz is not for my nails :(

But anyway, thank you for reading and I hope to see you back soon :)

Day 20: Water Marbled

Hello! Today I kinda cheated. Like the title says, I was supposed to water marble. I do not have filtered room temperature water and I'm not gonna buy a bottle of water just for today. So after a few tries I decided to just do a drag marble. I believe that's what this is called.

I used the following polishes;
Essie - Tart Deco, Color Club - Wham! Pow!, China Glaze - Sugar High, Color Club - Warhol, Catrice - Lucky In Lilac!, Color Club - Pucci-Licious, Essence - Got A Secret, Orly - Blue Collar and China Glaze - Snow.

In case you didn't know; I have a super small room. I don't even have a closet and until not so long ago I didn't even have a bed. When I do my nails I have this plate thing for your lap (it's supposed to be for breakfast in bed) It's not really stable, but comes in quite handy for doing my nails. Today, I have no idea what happened, but since the plate is so unstable I dropped 7 open bottles on my carpet and bed... So yeah, I can't remove it, but it's not so bad. I hate this carpet and the sheets... Who cares? ;p

I water marbled once before. Check it here!

Day 9: Rainbow Nails

I'm really, really, really disappointed in the way this manicure turned out. In real it actually looked a bit better than this, because the orange looks a lot less red in real life. It's super messy and I blame all of that on the striping tape... When I later added it between the colors it just didn't stick on my nail at all!

Ever since I was little I've been loving bright colors and whenever I was drawing rainbows (did that a lot when I was little) I always did pink, orange, yellow, green and blue. Sometimes purple and red as well :)

From pink to blue I used;
Color Club - Warhol
Color Club - Wham! Pow!
Color Club - Almost Famous
Catrice - Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy
Sinful Colors - Why Not?

Thanks for reading!

Day 2: Orange Nails

This is a re-post. I scheduled this post at 1:00 PM (my time) but about an hour before I wanted to change it, but made a mistake. It ended up saying I posted it 12 hours before that, so by then hardly anybody would see it :P

Orange isn't really my color, although I don't know how I feel about it this summer. I actually think I would wear orange by then :) I painted my nails in Tart Deco from Essie and over that I stamped with Wham! Pow! from Color Club. For the image I used Konad m65.

I'm only 2 days in and already happy with today's result :P Do you like my manicure? :)
