Nail Polish Storage

I've seen a lot of different ways to storage your nail polish. I thought I found mine, but my collection is growing so much that it didn't fit anymore.

Before I show you, I have a very unorganized way of storing my polishes. The reason; I have the smallest bedroom in the world. My bed barely fits in it and I don't even have a closet. I only have place to store under my bed and on my wall.

Months ago I got these things. I don't know what to call them. They're supposed to hang on the wall and place pictures and what not on them. They're perfect for nail polish, so that's what I use them for. They have smaller ones too and I hope to get more of these someday.

And yesterday I bought this plastic storage box. I don't know the size of it, but it's full now. It might look very messy, which it is, but for me it's easy. I get it from under my bed, put it on my bed and I can find colors so much more easier than I did before. I kept them in a smaller plastic black basket. I couldn't see a thing! :P

Yesterday I also counted all my polishes and counted 278 I believe. I was hoping I was over 300 already xD I gave away a few to my mom and some might leave my collection, so the number isn't right. I didn't count top and basecoats and stamping polishes.

I own the most Catrice polishes; 53 :)

Thanks for reading :)

Tutorial; Stamping With A Gradient Background

Hello! How is your Friday the 13th going? :) Mine has been awesome, like always! :)

About a week ago an anon on Tumblr asked me to do a tutorial on the nails I did for day 26 for my 31 day challenge. Since I don't have the equipment to film a tutorial I did a photo tutorial. I hope I did well xD

Since it's not gonna be a gradient from light to dark or dark to light I first started picking 3 colors. I choose 3 pinks and started with the medium color which is Gum Pink from ELF.

Then you want to take a little make-up sponge or whatever sponge works good for you and you dip it in the lightest color you have. I don't like to apply polish on the sponge itself, because I feel like the sponge sucks up the polish more.

It's gonna end up looking something like this.

Then take your darkest color and sponge it over the lightest color. A tip when you haven't sponged before; Don't sponge too hard. The sponge can leave some pieces which are gonna get stuck on your nail and you have to start over.

Then it might look something like this;

Then apply a flakie. I love a green flakie over pinks, but you can do whatever you want. Maybe a glitter or nothing. Then you want to apply a topcoat afterwards. A fast drying is recommended, but if you're not too impatient you can just use a not so fast drying one.

When your manicure is completely dry you want to take your stamping gear. I used the image on Konad plate m60 and I'm using a Konad stamper and scraper. I'm using a white stamping polish.

If you decide to use a white for stamping you really need a white stamping polish or you need to find a really opaque white polish. I believe Sally Hansen has a really opaque one, but a stamping polish is the best.

Then I clean up around my nails with pure acetone and a brush. You can also just use nail polish remover and a q-tip. I find a white stamping polish really hard to remove around my nails as you can obviously see :P

This is really simple to do, but for me it's also a little practice to see how to make a photo tutorial and maybe make other things in the future :)

Thanks for reading and thanks to the anon for the request!

Pastel Skittles & Dots

Happy Easter everyone! I don't celebrate Easter, I'm just here for the chocolate eggs. But I did want to do something "Eastery" for today. Pastel colors remind me of Easter somehow, so that's why I did this simple skittle mani.

The pictures turned out a bit too bright, but you can still kinda see. I really liked the skittles, but wanted to try to add some dots, but they didn't turn out so good. They look like candy we used to get when we were little.

From pinky to thumb; Color Club Blushing Rose, Catrice Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy!, Essence Mellow Yellow, Catrice Apropos Apricot and ELF Mint Cream. I definitely refound my love for ELF's Mint Cream. What a gorgeous color!

Again, happy Easter and thanks for reading!

With A Flakie On Top

Todays manicure is something I really love! Easy and simple, but looking pretty nice. 2 weeks ago I wore Color Club's Warhol, a bright neon that looks so amazing in the sun. I put a green flakie on it and mattified it and I was in love! I tried to capture it on my camera, but it never worked out... A week later again I tried the same, but it just didn't happen.

Yesterday I just grabbed a random polish (just because it's kind of weird for me to stare at my polishes for 30 minutes, pick something and then decided it's not what I want). As my base color I'm wearing Miss Sporty's number 328 from the Clubbing Colours. Somebody please tell me where I can find the names for these polishes! Over that a Golden Rose flakie in number 09.

Just like the combination of Warhol and flakie I wanted this one matte too. It looks really different than when it's shiny, but I don't know how to explain that. I used ELF's matte topcoat for it.

I really like the look of the topcoat, because it's not a shiny matte, but I just looked at my nails and noticed that it's not matte anymore, while a few hours ago it still was matte. So it stayed matte for like 20 hours or something.

I'm sorry for the picture spam, but believe me; I had so much more! xD

Thanks for reading!

Day 19: Galaxies

I was kinda nervous to do the galaxy nails, because I only have to pick 1 wrong color and I can start all over again! But today that wasn't the case. I think I picked the right colors and I'm pretty satisfied with the end result :)

The picture above is from the nail I liked best; my middle finger. You can see most of the base color I used and to me that's more galaxy-like ;p

This last picture is a one from all the polishes I used. From left to right;
Sinful Colors - Frenzy
Essence Multi Dimension - Midnight Rocker (base color)
Catrice - Blues Brother Vol. II
Miss Sporty Clubbing Colors - 330
Orly - Blue Collar
China Glaze - Ahoy!
ELF - Glitter Purple
ELF - Lilac
Essie - East Hampton Cottage

The bottle that's not on the picture is China Glaze's Fairy Dust. I just forgot about it ;p

Thanks for reading!

Day 6: Violet Nails

Violet... I had to Google it, because I didn't really know what purple's I could use. All the colors that I saw were all different kinds of purple, so I thought I could just use these two for it.

I started with painting my nails in Plum Play With Me from Catrice which I actually bought a while back. I never noticed this one, but it's been out there forever! The triangle part is Purple Pleaser from ELF. It was pretty hard to get the striping tape the way I wanted to be, but I couldn't take it off anymore, because then I had to re-do my nails. And I'm too lazy for that! All in all it turned out not too bad.

I think you can see what I tried to make. A peace sign! :)

Before I forget; I told you about the bunny we bought, but he still doesn't have a name! So here's a picture of him. Maybe his furry coat makes you think of a name ;p

I hope you liked today's mani :)

Pink Ombre Nails

Ombre nails, something I've been wanting to do since forever! It seems so simple, but whenever I wanted to do it I stopped my search for shades that would fit together. But last night at around 1 am, I found them! They're still not so perfect together, but I'm kinda proud :P

I definitely want to do this more with different colors. The colors in the picture are not color accurate; my camera couldn't capture them. But here's a list of what colors I used:
- Sinful Colors - Beautiful Girl (pinky finger)
- China Glaze - Sugar High (ring finger)
- ELF - Gum Pink (middle finger)
- Hema - 91 (index finger)
- Color Club - Overboard (thumb)

Have you done ombre nails before? I'd love to see it!

Frankenpolish - Underground Candy Shop

So, I was bored today and finally started with something I've wanted to do for so long... Franken! I did it once before, but I never was happy with that one.

I called this one Underground Candy Shop. That was the first thing that popped up in my head :P On all pictures it looks like it's a black based polish, but it's actually like a smokey deep, deep, deep, deep grey/purple/pink I guess. That's because I put in red and pink eyeshadow.

Some bottle shots...

Ingredients:
- Miss Sporty Glossy Tech'
- Red eyeshadow
- Pink eyeshadow
- ELF Black nail polish
- Golden Rose Scale Effect 04
- Golden Rose Scale Effect 09
- China Glaze Fairy Dust
- Color Club Candy Cane
- Wet 'n Wild Back Alley Deals
- Wet 'n Wild Rockin' Rubies

I don't know how much of everything I threw in the bottle to be honest. I did need to add a topcoat over it, because otherwise it didn't look as glittery and shiny. I used 'David' topcoat and I love the shine that it gives over a manicure.

So, what do you think of my Frankenpolish? Is that actually how you call it? xD
