Jelly Sandwich - Blue Waves

Well hello blog world. I haven't seen you in a while. Well, you haven't seen me for a while. Just busy, doing my thing. But, I have a week off now and I hope that one thing I'll be doing this week is blogging. Or at least try to make mani's for my blog :)

So today I'm back with a Jelly Sandwich! I love to do these, even though I don't have a lot of jelly polishes. I added a new jelly to my collection this week and decided a Jelly Sandwich had to be made.

I'm wearing 2 coats of China Glaze Ride The Waves from the Summer Neons collection. A royal blue jelly. Then I went over with one coat of Essence Blue Addicted and another coat of Ride The Waves. The sandwich is completed! :)

What do you think of this Jelly Sandwich? Let me know!

Pink & Yellow Zebra

Today I'm showing you an old manicure again. I keep finding stuff on my laptop that I haven't posted. I don't know if it's just laziness or because it shouldn't be here... This manicure was just to see if I could use Essence Yellow Mellow for stamping, because I found it a bit thick.

The result; Yes and no. Yes, if you want a subtle look and no if you want it to be more obvious ;p I believe I tried this manicure before I got N.Y.C. Lexington Yellow, which seems more suitable for stamping.

I'm sorry for the short post, but I believe I should keep it short :P

Thanks for reading :)

Pastel Skittles & Dots

Happy Easter everyone! I don't celebrate Easter, I'm just here for the chocolate eggs. But I did want to do something "Eastery" for today. Pastel colors remind me of Easter somehow, so that's why I did this simple skittle mani.

The pictures turned out a bit too bright, but you can still kinda see. I really liked the skittles, but wanted to try to add some dots, but they didn't turn out so good. They look like candy we used to get when we were little.

From pinky to thumb; Color Club Blushing Rose, Catrice Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy!, Essence Mellow Yellow, Catrice Apropos Apricot and ELF Mint Cream. I definitely refound my love for ELF's Mint Cream. What a gorgeous color!

Again, happy Easter and thanks for reading!

Day 20: Water Marbled

Hello! Today I kinda cheated. Like the title says, I was supposed to water marble. I do not have filtered room temperature water and I'm not gonna buy a bottle of water just for today. So after a few tries I decided to just do a drag marble. I believe that's what this is called.

I used the following polishes;
Essie - Tart Deco, Color Club - Wham! Pow!, China Glaze - Sugar High, Color Club - Warhol, Catrice - Lucky In Lilac!, Color Club - Pucci-Licious, Essence - Got A Secret, Orly - Blue Collar and China Glaze - Snow.

In case you didn't know; I have a super small room. I don't even have a closet and until not so long ago I didn't even have a bed. When I do my nails I have this plate thing for your lap (it's supposed to be for breakfast in bed) It's not really stable, but comes in quite handy for doing my nails. Today, I have no idea what happened, but since the plate is so unstable I dropped 7 open bottles on my carpet and bed... So yeah, I can't remove it, but it's not so bad. I hate this carpet and the sheets... Who cares? ;p

I water marbled once before. Check it here!

Thanks for reading!

Day 19: Galaxies

I was kinda nervous to do the galaxy nails, because I only have to pick 1 wrong color and I can start all over again! But today that wasn't the case. I think I picked the right colors and I'm pretty satisfied with the end result :)

The picture above is from the nail I liked best; my middle finger. You can see most of the base color I used and to me that's more galaxy-like ;p

This last picture is a one from all the polishes I used. From left to right;
Sinful Colors - Frenzy
Essence Multi Dimension - Midnight Rocker (base color)
Catrice - Blues Brother Vol. II
Miss Sporty Clubbing Colors - 330
Orly - Blue Collar
China Glaze - Ahoy!
ELF - Glitter Purple
ELF - Lilac
Essie - East Hampton Cottage

The bottle that's not on the picture is China Glaze's Fairy Dust. I just forgot about it ;p

Thanks for reading!

Day 5: Blue Nails

Doing this challenge makes me realize that it's easier to remember the date. But that's just a side note. For day 5 we have blue nails on the planning. At first I stamped something, but it kinda failed big time. I had some blue polishes in my hands to do some new stamping, but I decided to go for ombre instead.

The colors are far from accurate and even photoshop couldn't help me. In real life I really like the way it looks. Just like the orange and yellow nails it makes me feel like summer is coming soon!

Thumb: Sinful Colors - Why Not?
Index: Orly - Blue Collar
Middle: Julep - Amy
Ring: China Glaze - For Audrey
Pinky - Essence - You Belong To Me

Top 5 Of 2011: 2. Essence - Blue Addicted

Number 2 of my top 5... It's a polish I used to hate, because I once layered it over a wrong color blue. When I once tried it over the right kind of blue, I was sold! Essence's Blue Addicted is on number 2!

I layered Blue Addicted over another Essence polish named Hard To Resist. It matches perfectly with Blue Addicted. Blue Addicted is a sheer blue based jelly polish filled with blue and green hexagon glitters. There are also smaller, but square blue glitters in it.

You may know this already, but Blue Addicted is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Across The Universe. This Essence polish was only € 1,29 and I believe they are available in America at Ulta for just $ 1,00.

I will post my number 1 polish of the year in a few hours :)
