Nail Art || Stripes

Hello! Another manicure from days ago and I believe I have a few more coming that are from days before :P But the other week I decided I had to do more than just slap on a coat of polish and go to work. I decided it was time to get out my striping tape and get taping!

I don't know how I came up with this color combination, but I liked it. The blue looks less dark than it actually was. You could actually barely tell the difference between the black and blue. Over the black I just had to put on Fairy Dust, since it makes every manicure better. Over the pink/purple I put on Kleancolor Chunky Holo Fuchsia.

As you can see I do not really master the tape as you can see on my pinky finger. Of course I applied a layer of topcoat after the tape, but sadly the next day the tape came off :( But I had fun for as long as it lasted :P

The blue polish is a blue polish from Hema, the black is just Black from Color Club, topped with China Glaze Fairy Dust. The pink/purple is Purple Crush from Orly.

I hope you're having a great weekend and I'll see you next time! :)

Swatch || Kleancolor Pastel Teal

Hello!

So 2 weeks ago I ordered this polish (along with Ozotic 509 and more). It's my first Kleancolor! I've been wanting some Kleancolors for a while and here is one to show.

Like the title may suggest this is a pastel teal. I find it pastel blue :P This one really reminds me of Catrice's Am I Blue Or Green? But this is more blue, more opaque and has a way better application. An application like butter! I'm wearing 2 coats in the pictures.

I found a blurry picture in the photo's I made for this swatch and I really like it! I don't know why... xD

For the Ozotic I payed a lot of money, but this one is nice and cheap. I payed € 3,50 for this one at prettypolish.nl :)

New Frankenpolishes

Yesterday I randomly decided to create a polish. While working on it I made 4 instead of 1 :P A few weeks ago there was a Dutch tv host wearing green jeans that looked so glowing. And I was like; I want a polish in that color! A week later she was wearing another jeans in orange, but it seemed from the same brand. Also never seen that color in a polish. So here are my Frankens.

This first one is a neon bubblegum pink. But I decided to name it Hot Flamingo :P I'm not good with how much I used of what polish, but it was about 3/5 Catrice Sweets For My Sweets, 1/5 China Glaze Shocking Pink and 1/5 Color Club Warhol. This is 2 coats and no topcoat.

This second one looks so much nicer in real life. It's lighter and looks glowing. I named this one Dancing On The Sun. It was half a bottle of Catrice Snow and I randomly put in China Glaze Sun Worshiper and China Glaze Yellow Polka Dot Bikini. I really love this one! This is 3 coats and no topcoat.

This 3rd one is my favorite and on Instagram it got a lot of likes :) I named it Don't Call Me Apple. Just like Dancing On The Sun it's really glowing and so pretty! I used half a bottle of China Glaze Snow and put in China Glaze Four Leaf Clover, China Glaze Sun Worshiper and Color Club Twiggie. This is 2 coats and no topcoat.

This last one isn't really what I hoped it would be, but I still like it, since I have nothing like it. Seriously. I named it As High As A Cloud. It's a beautiful sky blue. I used Rimmel London Sky High, Color Club Age Of Aquarius and another Color Club that I can't remember. This is 2 coats and no topcoat.

I hope to be frankening soon again, because I really like these!

What do you think of these and which one is your favorite? :)

Blue Ombre Nails

Today I have another blue manicure for you. I did a blue ombre today, because I had to go somewhere quickly today, so went for this simple thing. I've done blue ombre nails once before, I've done a pink ombre once before and I've done ombre paint drips.

From pinky to thumb I used Color Club Chelsea Girl, Sinful Colors Why Not?, Orly Blue Collar, China Glaze Bahamian Escape and Essie Borrowed & Blue.

Chelsea Girl is pretty much the same as China Glaze Ride The Waves. It felt like 3/4 jelly and 1/4 creme :P If you had to pick between these two colors go for Ride The Waves. Here I used 3 coats of Chelsea Girl and it's still not opaque.

Jelly Sandwich - Blue Waves

Well hello blog world. I haven't seen you in a while. Well, you haven't seen me for a while. Just busy, doing my thing. But, I have a week off now and I hope that one thing I'll be doing this week is blogging. Or at least try to make mani's for my blog :)

So today I'm back with a Jelly Sandwich! I love to do these, even though I don't have a lot of jelly polishes. I added a new jelly to my collection this week and decided a Jelly Sandwich had to be made.

I'm wearing 2 coats of China Glaze Ride The Waves from the Summer Neons collection. A royal blue jelly. Then I went over with one coat of Essence Blue Addicted and another coat of Ride The Waves. The sandwich is completed! :)

What do you think of this Jelly Sandwich? Let me know!

Catrice Month: Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans

My nails are short again! My nails started growing and growing and they were actually strong and not breaking. A dream came true! But I decided that I don't like long nails on me, so I filed them down a few days ago :)

But Today I'm showing you a discontinued polish that got undiscontinued :P I'm glad it came back, because I once saw a swatch of Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans and then found out it had dark blue glitter in it. That's when I knew I needed it. Not needed, but just had to have it.

Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans is a jeans blue polish with blue glitters in it. Those glitters are hardly noticeable in the bottle, but do come out on the nail. It applies easy and 2 coats is needed for opacity.

To be honest I don't like it that much. This is just not my color. I'm more of a baby blue, blue/green, teal kind of girl. Can't get enough of those! :)

Thanks for reading :)

Catrice Month: Blue Cara Ciao

Guess who's back? Me! :P I haven't gone anywhere though. After my last post I got busier than expected and didn't turn my laptop on for 3 or 4 days :O That's a personal record for me. I wanted to post yesterday, but not posting one more day doesn't kill anymore.

And something I feel like sharing; I overslept this morning! That's like the 3rd time in my life (high school not included :P) I'm not sure if I woke up after my alarm went off... I know I turn it off in my sleep sometimes, but I always automatically wake up at like 6 am, even when I can sleep in.

So, I'm back again with a Catrice swatch. I was confused the other week when i wanted to post this. I thought this was Pool Party At Night... Obviously it isn't. This is a deep bright blue color that really pops. It's the kind of blue I used for water when coloring in kindergarten xD The picture isn't color accurate. The color is a bit darker in real life.

2 coats, no base- & topcoat

Catrice Month: Pool Party At Night

Welcome to day 3! This is Pool Party At Night. A B-E-A-utiful blue. I find that on the picture it looks like it has a hint of purple in it, but I don't find that it has that hint in real life too.

I don't think Catrice came out with a lot of blue polishes ever since I started hoarding them :P Just like Dirty Berry it applied so well and 2 coats was enough. You can get away with 1 thicker coat though, but I always prefer 2 thinner coats.

I didn't use a base- and topcoat for this swatch.

Are there any Catrice polishes that you want to see swatched here? If I have it, I'd love to swatch it!

Thanks for reading :)

Pastel Skittles & Dots

Happy Easter everyone! I don't celebrate Easter, I'm just here for the chocolate eggs. But I did want to do something "Eastery" for today. Pastel colors remind me of Easter somehow, so that's why I did this simple skittle mani.

The pictures turned out a bit too bright, but you can still kinda see. I really liked the skittles, but wanted to try to add some dots, but they didn't turn out so good. They look like candy we used to get when we were little.

From pinky to thumb; Color Club Blushing Rose, Catrice Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy!, Essence Mellow Yellow, Catrice Apropos Apricot and ELF Mint Cream. I definitely refound my love for ELF's Mint Cream. What a gorgeous color!

Again, happy Easter and thanks for reading!

Flyin' Clovers

Hello! I'm really sorry for being such a lazy blogger the past few weeks... I've had nails breaking and been super busy at work. But next week is hopefully the last hard week. I probably still won't be able to post a lot, but after Friday I have 4 days off! :D

Today I have a manicure that I didn't know what to name. It's a gradient (that you can't see) with a stamp I don't know what to name ;p

I painted my nails 1 coat of Four Leaf Clover from China Glaze, thanks Jen, and over that I made a gradient with China Glaze Flyin' High. You can't even see it in the picture. They're not really the same color; FLC is green and FH is blue/green and pictures just never really do the job. I also did some sponging with NYX Sea Of Cortez. Of course, in real life it looked a lot better!

I did the stamping with Konad m78 and I used a black stamping polish that isn't really working ;p I think I got a bad polish, because other stamping polishes from that brand have been doing a great job!

Thanks for reading! :)

Catrice feMALE LE; Swatches

Hello! Today I'm showing you a new LE collection from Catrice. This is the feMALE collection. The collection is focusing on the male dandy look versus feminine elegance.

This first one is A Woman's World. The pictures are far from accurate, but it's a nice coral orange polish. This one is close to Catrice's I Scream Peach!, but a little lighter in color.

Next we have Nude. A brown beige polish. This one was opaque in just 1 coat! I like the shiny version much better than it's own finish. The matte finish makes the polish look a bit dull...

My favorite from the 4; Who Are Blue. A lovely blurple polish. I think that's my first blurple polish. I like both the matte finish and the shiny topcoat finish. This one is similar to the Essence Colour & Go Absolutely Blue, but that one has a shiny finish. 1 coat is okay, but 2 coats is better.

Last but not least we have So Suit! A smokey grey polish. It looks lighter in the bottle than on the nails. Compared to the other 3 this one dries more shiny matte. I don't really like this one, but that's just the season; I'll probably love this one in the Winter.

All the pictures with the original finish were taking approximately 2 minutes after I applied a polish. The shiny version were taken probably right after I applied the topcoat.

I like the collection, but it's not that special. My favorite is Who Are Blue? I don't think Catrice ever had one like it in their standard collection, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Which one is your favorite? :)

Thanks for reading!

Day 28: Inspired By A Flag

I think you can see what flag inspired me; The British Flag! I've always wanted to visit the U.K. The Netherlands and the U.K. are pretty much neighbors with just a little bit of ocean between us :P

I tried my best with the freehand thing and I'm not that good with it, but it was easier than I expected it to be.

Anyway, I think you're dying to know what polishes I used, so here we go;
2 coats of Hema Nailpolish nr. 08
The white is a white stamping polish and the red is Ruby Deer from China Glaze.

Thanks for reading!

Day 27: Inspired By Artwork

Hello! Today is again, really simple. I choose to do Mondrian nails, because it's simple (and I went to a college named like that). I actually wanted to do all my nails, but I didn't feel so well, so ended up with this.

I actually painted all my nails black, except for my thumb. With striping tape I made the lines and filled the blocks in with a dotting tool. Then I took the striping tape off.

My thumb has 2 coats of Catrice Blues Brother Vol. II. My index finger is just Black by Color Club. My middle finger is 1 coat of Black and 2 coats of Ruby Slippers from Color Club and my pinky is a coat of Black and 2 coats of Almost Famous, also from Color Club.

Below my inspiration picture;

Day 24: Inspired By A Book

Can you see what book inspired me? The Rainbow Fish! I have no idea what the book was about; it's too long ago. But when I decided to do Rainbow Fish nails I remembered when I was like 7 we had to make the Rainbow Fish out of pieces of fabric. It was so much fun! I only put glue on the beginning of the fabric, so the pieces would hang loose on my paper. Oh, I was so creative! :P

I had no idea where to begin with these nails, so this tutorial helped me :)

A list of colors that I used;
Color Club; What A Drag!
Catrice; The Pinky And The Brain
Catrice; Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy!
Catrice; Pool Party At Night
China Glaze; For Audrey
Miss Sporty Clubbing Colours; 328
Golden Rose Scale Effect; 04

I hope you liked it! :)

Day 22: Inspired By A Song

I've been thinking so much of what song I should be inspired by. I listen to so much music, but I couldn't pick anything where I though I could make something with. I decided to watch video clips instead and I got inspired!

I doubt you can tell what video I choose, but I picked Jessie J's Domino. The video is really nice and I saw some things that I wanted to do something with.

This picture is inspired from the part where Jessie sits on this zebra print chair and she wears this gorgeous butterfly mask!

My index finger is inspired by a jacket she wears in the video. It's a blue and green gradient with leopard print and something printed in yellow. I decided to just put the yellow with the gradient as well.

My middle finger is from where she wears this pink suit kind of thing full with with things. I don't know what they were, so I just stamped clouds on my nail :P

My ring finger is inspired by the wall where she dances in a white 'I-don't-know-what-to-call-it'. The wall is actually greenish, but I already had a green nail.

My pink is inspired by the very beginning. Also the wall, with these circles in circles going in circles ;p

Overall I'm kind of proud of my little creation. Especially because I'm not that creative :P I hope you like it too! :)

Catrice Nymphelia LE: Be Pool

In case you didn't know; I'm taking a little break from the 31 day challenge, but I'll continue in a few days :)

Today I have a polish from the new limited edition from Catrice. Be Pool from the Nymphelia collection. When it comes to polishes this is the only polish that isn't in the standard collection. The other four are, which is kind of a disappointment.

This is Be Pool. A sea blue/green polish with a green shimmer. This is the kind of polish that looks so different in some lightnings. These pictures don't really show the true color of this polish, but I'm telling you; it's gorgeous!

I think I want Salmon & Garfunkel as well, but I could buy that one any time this year. I feel like it's a bit too light for my skin tone or at least it will look weird :P

Day 20: Water Marbled

Hello! Today I kinda cheated. Like the title says, I was supposed to water marble. I do not have filtered room temperature water and I'm not gonna buy a bottle of water just for today. So after a few tries I decided to just do a drag marble. I believe that's what this is called.

I used the following polishes;
Essie - Tart Deco, Color Club - Wham! Pow!, China Glaze - Sugar High, Color Club - Warhol, Catrice - Lucky In Lilac!, Color Club - Pucci-Licious, Essence - Got A Secret, Orly - Blue Collar and China Glaze - Snow.

In case you didn't know; I have a super small room. I don't even have a closet and until not so long ago I didn't even have a bed. When I do my nails I have this plate thing for your lap (it's supposed to be for breakfast in bed) It's not really stable, but comes in quite handy for doing my nails. Today, I have no idea what happened, but since the plate is so unstable I dropped 7 open bottles on my carpet and bed... So yeah, I can't remove it, but it's not so bad. I hate this carpet and the sheets... Who cares? ;p

I water marbled once before. Check it here!

Day 19: Galaxies

I was kinda nervous to do the galaxy nails, because I only have to pick 1 wrong color and I can start all over again! But today that wasn't the case. I think I picked the right colors and I'm pretty satisfied with the end result :)

The picture above is from the nail I liked best; my middle finger. You can see most of the base color I used and to me that's more galaxy-like ;p

This last picture is a one from all the polishes I used. From left to right;
Sinful Colors - Frenzy
Essence Multi Dimension - Midnight Rocker (base color)
Catrice - Blues Brother Vol. II
Miss Sporty Clubbing Colors - 330
Orly - Blue Collar
China Glaze - Ahoy!
ELF - Glitter Purple
ELF - Lilac
Essie - East Hampton Cottage

The bottle that's not on the picture is China Glaze's Fairy Dust. I just forgot about it ;p

Day 15: Tribal Print

I switched day 15 and 16. Today was supposed to be 'Delicate print', but I accidentally went to day 16. But that doesn't matter. I'm doing what I was supposed to do today, tomorrow OR I'll take a little break and continue in a few days. These sentences sound really confusing to me right now ;p

My tribal nails turned out really sad and not as epic as how it looks on other people. I do like the ones on my ring and pinky finger though. Of course I worked with striping tape again, because I don't really have nice brushes ;p

I started off with a base coat and then painted all of my nails black with the color Black from Color Club. Then I used striping tape for the shapes and stripes. Then I used different colors from different brands, just ask if you want to know a specific color, and I filled everything with a dotting tool. Again, I didn't use a topcoat afterwards. The reason I don't do that is because when I use a topcoat everything starts to smudge. Doesn't matter what topcoat I use or how long I leave my nails to dry. For the pictures I don't like smudgy, smudge smudge xD

Please leave a comment and thanks for reading!

Day 14: Flowers

I'm actually pretty excited about these flower nails! It reminds me of summer, beach, Hawaii, but also Bikini Bottom :P

I'm really not the person for freehand stuff, even though I do have to show my skills soon, so of course I stamped away! Again I used Konad image plate m57. Probably my favorite plate. I do have other plates with flowers, but these flowers were exactly what I needed.

For these nails I started off with 2 coats of Coastal Creme from Color Club. When that dried I sponged over it with Mint Cream from ELF for a gradient effect. Then I applied an O.P.I. topcoat. For the pink flowers I used Beautiful Girl from Sinful Colors and Sugar High from China Glaze. I didn't use a topcoat afterwards.

Thanks for reading!
