Going Holo with Dots and a Bow

Again a new layout... I'm as changing as the weather! But I have a new mani for you today. It's really simple and I love it!

I started with 2 coats of Milani's HD followed by a coat of Kaleidoscope from Wet 'n Wild. I believe I got both bottles from Iris from Polish Amor, but it could also be from Nory from Fierce Make Up & Nails. Since I mentioned in my yesterday's post that Wild At Heart might be good for stamping, so I tried stamping with it today.

I think it works pretty good for stamping, but it kinda loses it holographic effect. With HD and Kaleidoscope in this mani it's not really big of a deal, since these are pretty holographic already, but I can't say how well it would look without a holographic polish under it.

It was pretty hard to capture all the holo going on, but in real life it just looks so good! At first I thought HD would be a dupe for Color Club's Worth The Risque, but that one isn't holo at all... I used Konad image plate m59 for the bow and m79 for the dots.

What do you think of this mani? Yay or nay? :P

Color Club - Wild At Heart

Today I have a swatch for you again from a polish I didn't wore before. I regret that, because now I saw what a beauty this one is!

Color Club's Wild At Heart. A purple holographic polish. I don't even know how to describe this one. The holo is so colorful and sparkly. I haven't seen the sun in a while, but I know this would look amazing in the sun! My bottle of Wild At Heart is really holographic, just like Fashion Addict, but I don't know if there are bottles out there that are less or more holographic.

You could get away with just 1 coat of Wild At Heart, when you apply a little thicker coat than I did. I applied 2 thinner coats for it to be opaque. I'm not sure, but I think you could use this one for stamping.

I might purchase a back-up of this one, because I feel like that's necessary... ;p

What do you think of this polish? Love it or hate it? AND... do you have this one? Let me know below!

Personal: Acrylic Nails

Since the pictures of what I wanted to post turned out to be a fail I decided to tell you a little bit about my experience with acrylic nails. I just made it in a 'personal' thing, because it's not a review or anything, but just how I experienced them.

I am a total noob when it comes to fake nails, but I have heard so many stories about acrylics being a kill for your nails. The opportunity to get these done came along and I decided to just do it. A friend of a girl that does her internship at my work placed them for me.

First thing I noticed was that she didn't clean my nails and didn't shorten my own nails. I always thought that was necessary for some reason. When placing the tips, she didn't really try different tips, but just a few. Some of them turned out to be a little to small. She asked how long I want them and I didn't want them too long, just a little over the tip of my finger. She clipped off the access tips and started filing which seemed to be forever! She could have just clipped them off a little bit more and start filing from there...

The tip on my left index finger was already deformed when she put it on my nail and even though she saw it, she didn't put on another tip. I didn't know it would be that visible! She went over my nails with the acrylic powder and she did that slowly and careful. Maybe because her son was finally in bed :P After all that she put on a shiny layer of something (I have no idea what, maybe a top coat) and it wasn't really fast drying. We had to go home immediately, because it was raining, it was late and I had to go to work the next day. I said it wasn't dry yet and she said that it would dry when driving home on my scooter. There was no way I wasn't going to wear my (hairy) gloves, it was too cold.

When I came home and took off the gloves, my nails were so hairy! I went over with a nail polish remover and just put on some nail polish. The next day I really noticed how deformed the nails were! They looked like paddle nails and they were all bumpy...

At work I noticed the thickness off the nails. I couldn't take stickers off of products and I could just feel the whole fakeness :P At home I found a Essence 6 way nail file and I used the rough side of it to make the nails more even and make them less thick.

I'm happy I had the experience now with acrylics. I wouldn't do it again, never. Nail polish doesn't look as good on them and when they are so thick everybody can see they're fake. Yesterday I finally got the last on off from my finger and I only have a few tiny pieces of acrylic left on some nails, but my nails are doing fine, thank God! They're a little dry from the acetone, but Trind's Nail Repair is already doing a great job :)

Have you ever gotten acrylics? And what was your experience with them? Please let me know :)

Oh, and I made a Facebook account and I would love, love, love it if you like me there;

Stamping: Red Tiger Nails

Since I wanted to do something more interesting than just swatching and because I got rid of the fake nails I decided to get out my Konad plates. I wanted to do something with red and since I got a lot of red polishes the past 2 weeks I knew there must be two in it for this manicure.

I started off with 2 coats of China Glaze's Ruby Deer which instantly became my favorite red. When my nail polish addiction started I saw a picture of a celebrity with short red nails and that was a perfect red. I always wanted to find that perfect red and here it is!

With the famous Konad image plate m57 I stamped over my nails with the tiger print. I used China Glaze's Sugar Plums for that. Sugar Plums would probably be too sheer if you would want to stamp over white, but I think it went well over Ruby Deer.

What do you think of my stamping skills? :P I think it went pretty well if I may say so xD

Catrice Hidden World LE: Walk On Air

Today I was lucky enough to find a new Catrice display at work. I threw the Bohemian collection out and placed a whole new, nicer looking, Hidden World display. I was disappointed to see only 3 polishes in this Limited Edition and only 1 really looked nice to me. I got 2 of the polishes though.

This is Walk On Air. A peachy orange color with, what I would say, micro flakies. I don't find it micro shimmer nor micro glitter. This color reminds me of Catrice's Apropos Apricot, but that one is more orange.

I'm happy I got this polish, but it might have been a better one for spring or summer, so I think I won't use it until then.

Thanks for reading!

Sinful Colors - What's Your Name?

You may have noticed I didn't do anything nail art related when I started this blog. Not that I did do much of it on LimitedAddictionNails, but I can't wait to start stamping again! The reason of it is I got acrylics almost 2 weeks ago and because I use a lot of aceton, they're pretty much getting uglier by the day. So as soon as they are gone, or when my nails look more appropriate I start stamping again :)

A week ago I made swatches of this gorgeous polish that I wore right after I got it. A while back I did a swap with Iris from Polish Amor. One of the polishes I got was Sinful Colors' What's Your Name? It was on my wishlist, so I'm happy she got it for me.

What's Your Name? is a sheer black based polish full with blue/green glitters that turn purple in some angles. The purple is actually not noticeable, unless you keep it close to a light bulb and place the bottle in different angles. This is not too disappointing to me, because I didn't even know about the duochrome glitters :P

On MUA I read that you can hardly see the glitters, but I do notice the glitters in real life. Maybe it's just how you look at it. I have nothing like this and I love this polish!

Orly - Fowl Play

Happy New Year! I hope everybody is going to have a great new year and be happy and healthy :)

Maybe you're noticing my new layout. I just had to change it, because I like my pictures to be big! I'm always to lazy to click to enlarge on people's blogs, so yeah... xD

A few days ago I ordered my first Orly nail polish. I was surprised that the bottle was pretty big. It has 18ml in it, while I'm used to like 14 or 15ml.

This is Fowl Play. A sheer purple jelly base with yellow, orange and green flakies and some blue glitters here and there. When wearing Fowl Play, you mostly just see an orange yellow flakie. I found that a little bit disappointing, because in the bottle it looks like a rainbow in a bottle.

I managed to capture the other colors of the flakies too. While writing this I'm trying to find out how to see the green flakies by holding my lamp in different angles, but it's not working. I guess you just have to do your thing to maybe see it time to time.

And here you have my uninterested cat. I was trying to capture the flakies while I found myself in the weirdest positions, but as soon as I lied down on my back, my cat was on my belly again :P

Do you have Fowl Play? If so, what do you think of it? All I can say is that I'm happy that it's my first Orly polish and I hope I can get my hands on some more this year :P

Thanks for reading!
